The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) reported a magnitude 4.1 earthquake in Japan near Mutsu, Mutsu-shi, Aomori, just 18 minutes ago. The earthquake struck late overnight on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 11:24 p.m. local time at a moderately shallow depth of 60 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter and depth of the quake could be revised in the coming hours or minutes, as seismologists review the data and refine their calculations, or when other agencies release their report.
