Report: Mossad operation to find information on missing soldier Ron Arad failed
Channel 12 News reports that the Mossad operation presented today by Prime Minister Naftali Bennett to uncover information about the fate of IDF soldier Ron Arad, missing since 1988, was in fact a failure.
The network asserts that the disclosure of the information during the opening of the Knesset’s winter session was “more of a media headline and political drama than real meaningful development.”
“It was a brave, daring, complex operation, but it was a failure. We failed, ”the Mossad chief reportedly said at an internal meeting.
“It was better not to publish it. Unfortunately there hasn’t been a breakthrough here, ”the outlet said, citing an anonymous security official.
Channel 13 News quotes an official as saying Bennett “made political use of a sensitive operation.”
