Tom Brady’s return will come without his longtime running mate in New England. Tight end Rob gronkowski will not play in the game, as first stated by ESPN’s Jordan Schultz.

Gronkowski was injured in the Buccaneers’ Week 3 game while he was on the other end of a big blow from Rams linebacker Terrell Lewis. He briefly left the game, but returned. The 32-year-old has missed training all week.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Gronkowski will not make the trip to Foxborough for the game. That makes Brady and Antonio Brown the only former Patriots willing to return with the Bucs.

Not having Gronkowski is a big blow to the Buccaneers offense. So far this season, he has totaled 16 catches for 184 yards and four touchdowns, a high for the team.

Meanwhile, the Patriots have eight questionable players for Sunday night’s game. Trent Brown (calf) is a player to watch – he’s missed the previous two weeks.
