Two teenagers found with handguns at Istrouma High School |

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – The East Baton Rouge Parish (EBRSO) has charged two teenagers who were found with handguns at Istrouma High School.

According to EBRSO, a school drug task force responded to a report of a gun that school administration found in the bag of a 14-year-old high school student at 12:30 p.m. Friday. The student gave no further information, but the weapon had been reported stolen. EBRSO reports that no threats have been made.

The student was charged with carrying a firearm illegally on school property, a gun-free zone and possession of a stolen firearm.

In another incident later that day, EBRSO placed a 17-year-old student in juvenile custody for illegally carrying a firearm on school property and in a gun-free area after he was arrested. received an anonymous information that another student was carrying a handgun. EBRSO said the student was attempting to leave campus when the school’s resource officer contacted him. The weapon was found in his backpack.
